Half magic, half tragic. Good vs. Evil by ~gtako is a song of sadness and happiness, a stunning representation of the eternal inner fight of a human. Look at its composition and fragile equilibrium, simply gorgeous! (

"You must see with eyes unclouded by hate. See the good in that which is evil, and the evil in that which is good. Pledge yourself to neither side, but vow instead to preserve the balance that exists between the two." -Hayao Miyazaki, Director of My Neighbor Totoro
For some reason I do not see this as good vs evil, there's something very delicate and pure about this painting. I see a lot of trust, and love between the two. at first sight it seemed the man was a mermaid, in love with a human girl. I suppose each person may see a painting differently, that's the beauty of thing kind of expressive art. Wonderful work !
Pulling you under into the darkness which you can never escape. That slowly engulfs your entire life, suffocating you in a beautiful array of emotions. Hear the distant echo of crowing birds, feel the movements of graceful fish. Let your mind wander into the imagination zone.

Is it okay if I reference this piece for my college class? It has been one of my favorites since I first saw it. I just have to write a couple of paragraphs about the design principles I see in it, if it's alright with you. I will reference back to you here as well.
